Eye Serum Vs Eye Cream - What's the Difference?

!±8± Eye Serum Vs Eye Cream - What's the Difference?

If you search for anti-aging eye products, chances are you see eye serums and eye creams quite a bit. But what is the difference between them? Why do some people buy one and some the other? The answer is odd, but according to formulators who make both for clients of theirs, there is no difference in the two.

Some will say that an eye serum is a more advanced version of an eye cream, but that is just a marketing mind telling people things that they have no knowledge of otherwise. Eye serums are said to have more viscosity vs. eye creams, but again, that is not defined in any book or anything written as a bible to people who formulate these types of products. It's simply a matter of how companies are marketing the products these days. Most marketing companies will say that "serum" sounds more professional and technical than "cream." While I agree with that, most people don't have the education to know what a serum is, and just assume that is correct. Smart marketing minds capitalize on this word by using it in many different eye treatment formulas. People hear the word cream and associate it with lotion, while serum implies something much more advanced. Ask around, people will tend to agree with that statement.

That said, when you buy an eye serum, you are buying an eye cream, and vice versa. You can even throw in the word eye gel if you want, because many companies use this word as well. There are some companies who go by analogies like "a gel is sticky, and don't come out of a tube fast." Others use gel as a word to imply an instant effect, although it has no medical bearing to that respect.

The bottom line for consumers is that if the anti-aging product is marketed to treat the effects you are looking to treat, you can interchange the words without any worry that you bought the wrong one. Marketing minds will agree they even use the same formulas in both, because some people will buy due to the medicinal perception of the word "serum", and others are more prone to visit a store and say the word "cream." Interesting, huh? I certainly thought so.

Of course, many people will just buy a product because they bought one in the same line of products, which is fine. Why choose another brand if one works just fine? I like to keep everything in the same basket, so to speak. It's good when people find a company they enjoy purchasing from because it gives them a sense of loyalty, and with that comes customer service. My father bought Dodge cars for a long time, and had a solid track record with the dealership. For that matter, he was always first in line to get his cars serviced and received the best deals on new models. The same methodology can be applied to skin care. If you find an elite brand of eye creams, stick with it and try their other products. It can be a win-win scenario for you and the company.

My accustomed skincare routine

My skincare routine that I have been using since August. These are all the products I use to keep my skin healthy and under control. In case you were wondering: I have sensitive skin. I know that most beauty gurus have oily or dry skin so if you don't have sensitive skin these might not be the right recommendations for your skin type. Products I use: Aveeno Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer Clinique Self Sun 20% Benzoyl Peroxide Gel* Biore deep cleansing pore strips** (14 pack) Boscia Clarifying Detox Mask *Due to safety issues, I am not allowed to tell you the name of the acne gel I use because it would give away where I live. It is from a local medical spa that I am pretty sure is only local. It is only available by prescription so unless you have severe or close to severe acne you can't get it. But just because you can't get your hands on this product does not mean you can't get medication or any other treatments for acne from your dermatologist. Also I am not sure that I pronounced the name of the medication I was on correctly, I think on the label it was abbreviated. If you have any other questions about skincare, I am not an expert so please see a dermatologist for any questions or help you may have/need. **The free samples mentioned from Biore were not sent to me, they are included in every pack of pore strips you purchase. I had originally said that in the video but for some reason I edited it out. Remember: Everyone's skin is different, so just because I mentioned ...
